Job Description: Senior Playworker
Salary Scale: Scale SO1, Spine Point 29 (£15.76 per hour)
Working Week/Hours: Term time only (39 weeks) , 2.30pm – 6.00pm,
Monday to Friday, (17.5 hours per week)
Start Date: April 2018
Closing Date: 29th March 2018

As the Senior Playworker you will be a creative, enthusiastic, cheerful, reliable, responsible and assertive individual. You will have overall responsibility for the day to day operation and management of our after school care including managing, motivating and directing the Playworkers, Safeguarding responsibilities, promoting the club to new and existing users, administrative duties and maintaining records. The ideal candidate would also possess good organisational skills and the ability to develop exciting and varied activity programmes for our pupils.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
To be responsible for the development and monitoring of a quality Play Curriculum.
To manage and monitor the everyday practice of service delivery.
To be aware of Equal Opportunities and ensure policy and practice guidelines are observed.
To maintain records as required in relation to children and staff.
Lead in the delivery of play activities and study support to children.
Qualifications and Skills
At least 3 years’ experience of working with children in a play-work environment and experience in both the management and delivery of childcare.
Completion of an NVQ Level 3 qualification or higher in Playwork, Early Years or equivalent.
First aid and food hygiene certificate would be an advantage.
Administrative experience coordinating after school programmes in a school environment.
Relate well and communicate effectively at all levels with other staff members, parents and pupils.
